Building Peace

After viewing the video, “Building Peace,” I thought about how there are many things we take for granted. For example, in the video the children were excited to go to school and learn basic learning skills whereas here many kids have to be forced to go to school. Children in America take the educational system for granted because it is offered to them for free. They do not know what it is like to work and have to pay for classes and books until they go to college. In many other countries children cannot go to school because their parents cannot afford to send them, school becomes a luxury and not a necessity. Another thing that stood out to me was how the community united together. They all helped build the schools and in a way it reminded me of the Amish community. They were all happy to help in any way they could, their pride was in building the schools themselves and not having outsiders do their work for them.

  1. thats true, most of us who have everything we need, take for granted whatever we have always seen, things as food, shelter, education, etc..

that makes me think, who are the ones that need education, the ones who know what they lack or the ones who dont know what they have got?

  2. I agree 100% with what you have said. I think its an awful habit of ours to take things like education for granted. After this video, I started to appreciate the people that take time and help the less fortunate.

  3. I really like what he/she says about people or kids not taking advantage of the free system of school that we have. We don't need to pay for school at all until you get to college and even whenb you get to college you still qualify to get financial aid which pays for your school! So I believe that I could appreciate our system more as compared to the children in the video. I like that everybody united together to build a school for the kids.
