Stand Up!

Today I saw a video on homophobic bullying.  In this video you see the effect that one person can have on others and you begin to question if that person didn’t stand up, what would have happened. Would some else stand up or would it be ignored?  I think that it is ironic that most people that are religious are against gays because doesn’t the bible say something about choosing your own path? The only person affected is that person so the only that should judge that person is god.   Some of these people take religion to the extreme and go to ex-service members funerals preaching that their son or daughter are going to hell for serving in the war.  When did these people become speakers of god?  Remember simply showing up to church doesn’t make you a holly person, your actions do.

  1. Wow again, that is true about people being holly about their actions. It is true what he/she says about religious people being against homosexuals because one holly person should not disrciminate we are made in Gods eyes and he sees our future so he knows if that person will be gay or not. So God created us like that so NO one else should tell you to be gay or NOT.

  2. but the bible also implies that marriage is between man and women. I guess a person's thoughts on this situation really is how into your religion you really are. I don't think no supporting gay marriage/adoption of kids is extreme at all.

  3. Yes the bible does say that but in the end the bible is interpreted by man. At one point it said that it was ok to enslave African Americans. Parts of the bible can be taken out of context and used to justify your point. People get married, making a commitment to god and break that commitment by adultery or divorce. Should these people be band from church. Marriage is a touchy subject when when it comes to religion but marriage also provides civil rights. It gives the people the right to fight custody battles, file as joint salary for loans, and property rights. By denying marriage you denying them of civil rights. You simply cant state liberty for some but for not all.

  4. What sarah is true about what the bible says about marriage is between a man and woman..but then what alfonso says is true as well because people get married daily and then commit adultry but this post makes much sense as well because ou should be able to choose your own path and not be judged for it. In the end i feel only god can judge man because he is sinless and a sinful man shouldnt be able to judge another sinful man...point blank..good job on your post

  5. I agree with you in the bible and how people take religion to the extreme, and your right that just because you show up to church doesn’t make you holly. I don’t see noting wrong with two men or two women being together, but I also don’t believe in heaven or hell. I think people should just let everyone live there like and marry who they want to with no judgment.
